Tayler Malsam to compete for the 2008 ARCA ReMax Championship with Cunningham Motorsports.

8.2.07 Seattle, WA - After an impressive test with Cunningham Motorsports, it was announced today that 18 year old Seattle Washington driver Tayler Malsam will run the full schedule in 2008 with the ARCA Dodge development team. Malsam, who will drive the #4 Dodge, has been impressive in 2007 in both Sprint cars and Late Models and he is looking forward to this opportunity. “I can’t wait to race on the speedways”, said Malsam, “the ARCA car is so powerful, and the team just seems like a natural fit for me.”

Cunningham boss Kerry Scherer is optimistic about Tayler’s future, “We are proud to have produced some excellent race car drivers, and we certainly believe that Tayler is going to be a fantastic driver and compete for the championship. His is a smart and talented young man and we look forward to having him in the 4 car next season”.

The announcement comes on the heels of a very busy and very successful 2007. Malsam has been running extremely strong in Sprint cars on the west coast, racking up some excellent results in his #26 Rudeen Racing/FIRE-DOWN graphics machine, as well as having great success in his #26 late model at Irwindale speedway. Coach Bob Perona believes this experience will lead to wins at the ARCA level. “Tayler has been racing non stop it seems this season, and he has continued to impress me with both his speed and knowledge”, says Perona. “I have no doubt that Tayler is going to have some great results next season. He is definitely one of the up and coming stars of stock car racing”.

Driving the #4 Cunningham Dodge is certainly a great opportunity for Malsam to showcase that talent. As the Dodge Development car, some big names have come through the Cunningham Program, including Josh Wise, Scott Lagasse, and Juan Montoya to name a few. These are big shoes to fill, but Malsam has shown the ability and poise that it takes to get the job done, and the entire Cunningham Motorsports team believes it has a winner for 2008.
