TAYLER MALSAM

Birthdate: February 15, 1989
Hometown: Seattle, Washington
Residence: Charlotte, North Carolina

Driving for high-profile team owners is quickly becoming old hat for young racer Tayler Malsam, who in 2011 takes the reins of the No. 25 Toyota Tundra for Randy Moss Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

At 22 years old, Tayler Malsam is one of the NASCAR world’s up and coming sensations. In just a few short years he’s already logged experience racing for Roger Penske in the ARCA/REMAX Series, manning the No. 56 truck for Kyle Busch in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and after a run with Braun Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Tayler is returning to Randy Moss Motorsports for the 2011. Malsam has quickly risen to success at every level of racing he’s competed in thus far and it appears only a matter of time before he seizes the NASCAR spotlight.

As a rookie, Malsam proved to be a quick study in figuring out the ins and outs of Truck Series racing in 2009, recording a fifth-place finish at Iowa Speedway in Newton among his ten ‘Top 10’ previous Truck Series finishes. The Seattle-area native finished the 2009 season as runner up for the Truck Series Rookie of the Year award. "It was definitely a huge learning experience. I learned more than I ever have in my whole life," Malsam said. "Working for crew chief Doug Wolcott, who has worked with rookies his whole career, I learned so much about what to do off the track and on the track and I gained a lot of confidence. The Truck Series can beat you down so quickly with guys like Hornaday blowing by you like you’re standing still. By the end of the year, I learned a whole lot about aero and tires. I learned a lot that definitely works in my favor going forward."
